How to search your email
In short
Press Ctrl+Shift+F (or click “Search everywhere”) and type: Mailamber searches every mailbox in its local index, even without a connection. To narrow it down, use operators like from:, subject:, has:attachment or after:2026-09-01.
Mailamber’s search runs on a local full-text index: results arrive in a few milliseconds even on huge archives, and it works offline too, because everything is already on your disk.

On the PC, press Ctrl+Shift+F or click Search everywhere in the title bar. It searches every mailbox: senders, recipients, subjects and the text of downloaded messages.
Which operators can I use?#
Combine free text and operators, for example from:laura has:attachment invoice.

- For values with spaces, use quotes:
from:"Laura Conti". - Dates in
YYYY-MM-DDformat always work. In the English appMM-DD-YYYYworks too. after:includes the given day;before:stops at the day before.- An unknown operator is searched as normal text.
Why can’t I find an old message?#
Local search finds messages already downloaded to the device. Right after you add a large mailbox, syncing can take a while: the status bar at the bottom shows progress until Synced appears. See also Slow sync.
How does it work on Android?#
On the phone, search is simpler: tap the magnifying glass and type at least two characters. It searches by subject and sender (“Search by subject or sender…”) among messages already downloaded to the phone; message text and operators aren’t supported.
