Automatic updates and release notes
In short
Mailamber checks for updates at startup and then every hour, downloads them in the background and installs them when you quit or when you press “Restart and update”. What’s new in the installed version is in Settings → Updates; everything else is in the changelog.
How does Mailamber update?#
By itself. A few seconds after startup, and then every hour, the app checks whether there’s a new version. If it finds one, it downloads it in the background and, when it’s ready, lets you know with “Update … is ready: it will install itself when you are not using Mailamber.” The update installs:
- when you quit Mailamber, or
- right away, if you press Restart now.
Updates are signed: the app only accepts packages signed by the same publisher as the installer.
How do I check manually?#
In Settings → Updates you see the installed version; press Check. If you’re already up to date, “You're on the latest version.” appears. What’s new in each version is in the changelog.
Where do I read what’s new?#
In Settings → Updates, under the installed version, you’ll find what’s new in that version, in the app’s language. For earlier versions press All release notes: the full changelog opens on our website. The same link, together with this guide, is also in Settings → Help.
Is there a beta version?#
No. Everyone gets the same stable versions at the same time, on every plan: a new version reaches everyone within an hour of release.
What about the Android app?#
It updates through Google Play like any other app (details).
